Grass identification workshop

Grasses have a reputation for being challenging to identify, yet with a little practice and expert guidance it’s not too hard to learn to recognize the most common grasses in our area. Workshop participants will learn the grass language and walk away with confidence in knowing common native grasses.

What you'll learn:
-Basic grass morphology, terminology, and phylogeny.
- Grassland ecology and evolution.
-Common grass groups and genera of the north Bay Area
- Use of dichotomous keys, Jepson Manual, Marin Flora and practice.
- Build your own 'collection' of identification samples.
